When I opened it, I felt giddy. I felt excited. I wore it around my sister's house. I considered wearing it during the hour-long car ride home.
With my fly fishing adventure beginning to unfold in force after two seasons of carrying around a box, I marveled at the technology that was the fly vest. A tackle box you can wear. How exciting!
There are plenty of pockets for all of the different tools and gear that I currently carry, with more for when I have everything else that I might need in the future for fly fishing.
I love it, and I recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive starter or one that will last you a long time.

I have too much stuff I like to carry for a vest to work effectively. I just use a back pack which also serves to block an errant Clouser minnow traveling 30 miles an hour into your back. Trust me, that hurts. That looks like it should work well though. The only fly rod I have is a Redington and it gets the job done just as well as any other fly rod. Now my flies on the other hand....
ReplyDeleteRedington products are great yet I have none in my collection. As for the vest, I gave up the vests about a year or two ago and now work with a minimalist setup of a small -one box- fishpond chest pack, my rod and a small nymph box in my pocket. Whenever possible i try to wet wade but I warn you, at times that is a bit too cold for my boys and I often end up wishing that I'd have brought the waders. Great blog. I am stop lookin for my chance at carp.
